BT Group announce end of line for RedCare operations
BT Group have made the announcement that it's BT RedCare operations are to close down completely on 1st August 2025.
Whilst this has come as somewhat of a shock to the Fire & Security industry, BW-Tech Fire & Security have only recently adopted the RedCare range of products, so this somewhat limits the impact to our company.
Jordan Liddle, Technical Director of BW-Tech Fire & Security said the following –
“Over the past 12 months we’ve brought the BT RedCare product line to our clients. It now seems a real shame that BT have decided to cease this product range, but we have a majority of our remotely monitored Intruder & Fire Alarm Systems with CSL Group’s product DualCom. Whilst BT have given us notice, the actual closure of the RedCare service isn’t until the middle of next year (August 2025), so we will begin a program of works to move any of our clients from the RedCare service network to CSL Group’s product. Whilst we don’t anticipate any price increases moving from one product to another, we will continue to keep our customers updated with any information we receive on this matter.”
Our plan, although this is subject to review, is as follows:
From the 1st February 2024 any new monitored Fire & Security Systems will automatically be allocated a CSL Group product. This includes both Single & Dual Path products. These products are currently allocated as DIGIAir Pro & DualCom GradeShift Pro.
From the 1st April we will begin to move all of our clients that utilise the BT RedCare products to CSL Group products. This includes the RedCare Essential, RedCare Essential Extra, RedCare Advanced, RedCare Advanced Extra & RedCare Ultimate. These products will be swapped out for CSL products on a like-for-like basis.
We anticipate that by December 2024, all of our clients will be switched across with no downtime for our clients.
